Summary:
The Program Assistant role requires a versatile individual with core skills administrative tasks, recruiting, and teaching will also be beneficial in fulfilling the responsibilities of this position. The Program Assistant will play a key role in supporting program management and development, working closely with the management team to ensure the successful implementation of various initiatives.
Responsibilities:
● Help residents develop a recovery supportive transition plan and provide ongoing support to graduates in the community.
● Lead applicant screenings, interviews, and manage referrals.
● Track all program inquiries and applications. Maintain correspondence with all applicants, providers, and persons interested in learning more about our program.
● Lead intake process with new residents and conduct new resident orientation.
● Assist Program Director in resident treatment planning and documenting resident progress toward goals.
● Assist residents with meeting daily living needs, obtaining resources, and meeting their goals.
● Assist residents in cleaning up their criminal history and provide court advocacy.
● Relay resident issues and concerns to Program Director and ensure that all documentation is entered appropriately and in a timely manner into the agency case management system as needed.
● Assist Program Director in designing the weekly schedule and other programming as needed.
● Assist Program Director with the facilitation, design, and coordination of resident programming.
● Independently facilitate weekly resident groups on problem-solving techniques, life skills, recovery management, and other topics as needed.
● Assist residents in preparing for the workforce, including resume building, interview preparation, and identifying safe employers.
● Provide crisis management, one-on-one support, and conflict resolution as needed to maintain the safety of all residents.
● Conduct daily safety checks of the residential household.
● Assist with conducting and recording random urine drug screens for all residents.
● Serve as part of the after-hours/weekends as scheduled.
● Provide transportation for residents as appropriate, to program activities as needed.
● Attend all MSH staff meetings.
● Serve on agency committees as needed.
● Promote the mission of Magdalene Serenity House.
